Metro Senators Holding Tryouts for 2019 Travel Teams at 13U, 14U Levels

The Metro Senators travel program will be holding tryouts for its spring and summer 2019 middle school teams in October. The tryouts dates for the 13U and 14U teams will be held on Monday, Oct. 22 as well as on Monday and Tuesday the following week, on Oct. 29-30, beginning at 6 p.m. at South County Secondary School in Lorton. The Bradley Baseball Academy will be holding a conference call on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 9 p.m. and then a tryout the following week for players interested in joining the academy's academic showcase team in the summer of 2019. Registration Open for Metro Baseball Academy's Fall, Winter Camps

Registration is open for the Metro Baseball Academy's fall and winter camps for players from T-ball through high school. Fall sessions open with a four-week program beginning on Nov. 26, followed by a six-week winter program beginning on Jan. 7. MBA's offerings include team and individual facility rentals, private lessons with professional instructors, and a new Hitter's Club available to MBA members, which includes discounts on the academy's programs. Northern Virginia Baseball Umpires Seek New Members

The Northern Virginia Baseball Umpires Association is seeking candidates to begin umpiring baseball games beginning in 2019. The NVBUA offers extensive training programs to prepare its umpires to work as many games as they would like at all levels of the game - youth, travel, high school, collegiate and men’s league. Competitive Edge Travel Team Tryouts Set for Late October

Competitive Edge will hold tryouts for its travel program during the last week in October at Veteran’s Park in Woodbridge. Tryouts for players ages 9-12 will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 at Field #2, and for players 13 and over will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Field #3. Rip City's Pro Pitching Academy Sessions Begin on Nov. 1

Rip City will begin its Pro Pitching Academy sessions on Thursday, Nov. 1 at its facility in South Riding. The program includes personal pitching instruction, use of video analysis, modern technology to improve spin efficiency, along with the incorporation of strength trainers and physical therapy assessments and evaluations. Cost is $290/month, which includes two sessions per week and unlimited access as space permits for members to train on their own. Other individual and team programs are also available. Freedom-South Riding Hosting Golf Tourney as Batting Cage Fundraiser

The baseball and softball programs at Freedom High School in South Riding will be hosting a golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 29 at the South Riding Golf Club as a fundraiser for new batting cages. The tournament will feature a captain's choice/best ball format with a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m., with lunch to follow.
